Modern Slavery Statement

Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement

Man with Van Colindale is committed to conducting all aspects of its operations in an ethical, transparent and responsible manner. This Modern Slavery Statement sets out our approach to preventing modern slavery and human trafficking within our own activities and throughout our supply chains. It applies to all staff, contractors, agency workers and suppliers engaged by Man with Van Colindale.

Modern slavery is a serious violation of fundamental human rights and includes slavery, servitude, forced or compulsory labour and human trafficking. We recognise that the transport, logistics and associated services sectors can be exposed to particular risks, and we are determined to identify, address and reduce those risks.

Our Zero-Tolerance Policy

Man with Van Colindale operates a strict zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and human trafficking. We will not knowingly engage with, support or transact with any individual or organisation involved in such practices. Any confirmed breach of this policy may result in termination of employment or business relationships, and will be reported to the relevant authorities where appropriate.

All employees and representatives are expected to act with integrity and to promote a culture where unethical behaviour is challenged. We make clear to our team that compliance with this policy is a condition of working with Man with Van Colindale and that any concerns must be raised without delay.

Supply Chain Standards and Supplier Audits

Our supply chain includes providers of vehicles, fuel, equipment, storage, subcontracted transport services and other operational and professional services. We expect all suppliers to share our commitment to ethical working practices and to comply with applicable labour, employment and human rights laws.

Prior to engaging new suppliers, we conduct proportionate due diligence, which may include assessing company policies, ownership structures, locations of operation, labour practices and previous compliance issues. Where we identify higher risk, we may require additional information or assurances before engaging the supplier.

Man with Van Colindale is committed to ongoing monitoring of suppliers through periodic checks, reviews and audits that are appropriate to the scale and risk profile of the relationship. These audits may include review of employment practices, right-to-work checks, use of subcontractors, and evidence of policies addressing modern slavery. Where necessary, we will work with suppliers to improve standards, but we reserve the right to end relationships if adequate remediation is not delivered.

Employee Awareness, Training and Responsibilities

We aim to build awareness among our staff of the risks and indicators of modern slavery. Where relevant to their roles, employees may receive guidance or training on recognising warning signs, such as withholding of identity documents, clear signs of coercion, or workers living in poor conditions controlled by third parties.

Every member of staff is responsible for helping to prevent modern slavery. This includes following our procedures when selecting or working with suppliers, and reporting any suspicions or concerns immediately. Managers are expected to promote a culture in which concerns can be raised in good faith without fear of retaliation.

Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing

Man with Van Colindale encourages all employees, agency workers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders to report any concerns about modern slavery or human trafficking. Concerns may relate to our own operations or those of any supplier, subcontractor or business partner.

Reports can be made directly to line managers or senior management. Individuals are encouraged to provide as much detail as possible so that concerns can be assessed and, where necessary, investigated. We will treat all concerns seriously, handle information sensitively and, as far as reasonably possible, maintain confidentiality.

No person will suffer dismissal, disciplinary action or other detrimental treatment for raising a concern about suspected modern slavery in good faith, even if the concern is not ultimately substantiated.

Continuous Improvement and Annual Review

Man with Van Colindale recognises that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement. We will review and, where necessary, update this Modern Slavery Statement at least once every year to reflect changes in legislation, best practice, business operations and risk assessments.

As part of our annual review, we will evaluate the effectiveness of our actions, including supplier due diligence, audit outcomes, staff awareness and any concerns raised through our reporting channels. We will use this evaluation to inform further improvements to our policies, procedures and training.

This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the management of Man with Van Colindale and reflects our ongoing commitment to operating responsibly, respecting human rights and working towards the elimination of modern slavery in all its forms.
